UAE President And North Macedonia Prime Minister Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, recently hosted His Excellency Hristijan Mickoski, Prime Minister of North Macedonia, during a working visit to the UAE. The meeting took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi. His Highness expressed optimism that this visit would enhance economic, trade, and investment relations between the two nations.
The Prime Minister conveyed greetings from Her Excellency Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, President of North Macedonia. She extended her best wishes for the UAE's ongoing progress and prosperity. In response, His Highness asked the Prime Minister to relay his greetings to the North Macedonian President, along with his hopes for further growth and development in her country.
Both leaders explored opportunities to expand cooperation in key sectors such as economy, investment, renewable energy, sustainability, infrastructure, and tourism. These areas are priorities for both countries. They also discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest.
His Highness reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to strengthening development partnerships with Balkan countries. He emphasized supporting efforts that promote peace and stability in the region. The UAE advocates resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomacy to support development and prosperity for all.
During their meeting, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Dr Hristijan Mickoski witnessed the announcement of two memoranda of understanding. The first concerns economic cooperation between the two countries. The second involves collaboration between the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy and North Macedonia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting was attended by several dignitaries including Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister; and other senior officials from both nations.
Future Prospects
Prime Minister Mickoski expressed hope for increased cooperation between the two countries in the future. He highlighted shared ambitions to advance bilateral collaboration across various fields that could support sustainable development goals for both nations.
The delegation accompanying Prime Minister Mickoski included members who participated in discussions aimed at fostering stronger ties with the UAE. This visit underscores a mutual desire to explore new avenues for collaboration that benefit both peoples.
