UAE National Orchestra Reveals Artistic Vision And Launches Emirati Talent Programme For 2026 Season
The UAE National Orchestra has revealed its artistic vision and musical philosophy for its first season, following its debut at the UAE’s 54th Eid Al Etihad celebrations. This new orchestral sound was introduced during the official ceremony at the Zayed National Museum and will be shared across all seven emirates. The inaugural season begins with a public concert, "The Beginning," on 15 January 2026.
Before unveiling this new sound to the nation, the UAE National Orchestra established principles guiding its music creation and evolution. The orchestra aims to blend Oriental and Western instruments, fostering a musical dialogue that introduces fresh expressions and sounds unique to the Emirates. This philosophy defines their emerging sound and influences artistic decisions for the season.

Sheikha Alia bint Khalid Al Qassimi, Managing Director of the UAE National Orchestra, stated, "Rooted in heritage and forward looking, the UAE National Orchestra reflects the pride and ambition of our nation. It brings together talents from many cultures under one vision, creating music that belongs to the Emirates and connects with audiences across the country." She emphasised how presenting this new orchestral voice during Eid Al Etihad celebrations highlighted the depth and unity of their national sound.
Artistic Director and Conductor Amine Kouider explained that music acts as a language of understanding. He said, "When Arabic and Western instruments share one stage, they do more than produce sound; they engage in a conversation that reveals new meaning in the music." This season aims to harmonise these traditions, allowing musical ideas to meet and evolve.
The inaugural season will explore how music transcends borders with performances across all seven emirates starting 15 January 2026. Each programme is crafted to introduce audiences to the orchestra’s new artistic sound while showcasing diverse musical traditions through the UAE’s creative lens.
The season includes world premieres of original compositions for the UAE National Orchestra, regional collaborations with leading artists, and performances by renowned international guests. Programmes like "The Beginning" feature an Emirati symphonic commission premiere. "Faces of Love" explores love's journey through melody, while "Vivaldi: A Journey East" imagines Vivaldi encountering Arab instruments.

Sheikha Alia bint Khalid Al Qassimi added that supporting Emirati talent is crucial for sustaining the country's musical landscape. The programme provides a structured pathway for emerging musicians to grow while representing UAE through music.
Together with this programme, the inaugural season forms part of the UAE National Orchestra’s mission to shape a national musical voice carried forward by future musicians.
