UAE's National Health And Nutrition Survey 2024 Receives Community Praise

The National Health and Nutrition Survey 2024-2025 has garnered a positive response from the community, particularly among targeted groups. This reflects the effectiveness of MoHAP’s awareness campaigns, conducted in partnership with key stakeholders, in highlighting the significance of survey results for public health and quality of life in the UAE.

Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Public Health Sector, emphasised that active participation in the survey is crucial for gathering essential data. He stated, "This data helps create effective strategies to enhance public health and improve the quality of life for everyone." The cooperation and enthusiasm shown by participants underscore the UAE’s social responsibility values.

UAE Health Survey 2024 Praised

Dr. Alia Zaid Harbi, Director of the Statistics and Research Center at the Ministry, urged all community members to engage positively with the national health campaign. She noted that sustained collaboration strengthens health authorities' capacity to address challenges and promote public health standards. Dr. Harbi highlighted that the survey covers a broad range of health and nutrition indicators.

The Ministry is conducting this survey in collaboration with strategic partners such as the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics, health authorities, and local statistical centers across the UAE. The survey aims to collect accurate and reliable data on health and nutrition status in the country.

The National Health and Nutrition Survey 2024-2025 aims to update the population's health database and assess health performance indicators. It involves gathering field data through an approved methodology to reflect the current health landscape in the UAE. This data will support decision-makers in developing policies and strategies aligned with the "We the UAE 2031" vision.

The survey is conducted through personal interviews during field visits using electronic questionnaires approved by WHO and local health authorities. These questionnaires are available in Arabic, English, Hindi, and Urdu to ensure comprehensive data collection from all community segments.

Target Demographics

The National Health and Nutrition Survey 2024-2025 aims to reach a large sample size of 10,000 households for both health and nutrition surveys, with 40 percent citizens and 60 percent residents. Additionally, it will include 2,000 individuals from workers' accommodations. The target age groups are elderly individuals, adults over 18 years old, females aged 15 to 49, pregnant women, and children from birth to 17 years old.

Dr. Harbi stressed that socio-economic factors, household spending on health, rates of non-communicable diseases and risk factors are among the indicators covered by this survey. It also includes biophysical measurements, access to healthcare, micronutrient deficiencies, dietary intake, child growth indicators, and pregnant women's health.

Many community members have praised how important this survey is for checking individual health and improving public health. They encourage everyone to support field survey teams by sharing their personal experiences.

The Ministry has developed precise data collection methods following international standards. Dr. Harbi reaffirmed that all collected data would remain confidential and used solely for statistical and research purposes.

By using accurate data and solid scientific evidence to shape health policies and programs, these efforts will boost overall health and well-being in the UAE.
