UAE Ministry Receives Green Certificate For Sustainability Efforts
Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority PJSC (DEWA), has honoured the UAE Ministry of Cabinet Affairs (MOCA) with a Green Certificate. This recognition acknowledges the Ministry’s commitment to environmental sustainability through the use of Moro Hub's Green Data Centre for its IT workloads.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, presented the Green Certificate to Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, and Director General of the Prime Minister’s Office. The presentation took place during the AI Retreat at the Museum of the Future in Dubai.

Omar Sultan Al Olama affirmed that the UAE Government is dedicated to realising the wise leadership’s vision by accelerating efforts to expand the adoption and development of innovative solutions powered by Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies. These solutions align with environmental sustainability standards, significantly reducing the carbon footprint.
Al Olama emphasised a future-oriented approach that focuses on proactive readiness for challenges and opportunities in the digital sector. He noted that integrating clean and renewable energy into government operations is crucial for accelerating growth, achieving sustainability, and enhancing the country’s leadership.
Al Olama added that fostering effective partnerships between public and private sectors in developing an advanced technological landscape supported by renewable energy solutions will enable entities to enhance their operations. This approach contributes to national and global efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and supports the fight against climate change.

He commended the ministry's leadership in enhancing environmental sustainability, significantly reducing carbon footprints, and supporting sustainable practices in the digital sector. Moro's Green Data Centre promotes digital transformation for governmental and private institutions in the UAE.

Al Tayer added that the Green Certificate embodies successful collaboration between organisations to promote sustainability and adopt green technologies. It encourages institutions to enhance operational efficiency and contribute to building a more sustainable future. The certificate underscores MOCA's confidence in Moro Hub's digital capabilities, aligning with their commitment to environmentally friendly practices.
Al Tayer concluded by reiterating DEWA's dedication to reducing environmental impacts and addressing climate change to preserve planetary resources.
