UAE Conducts Urgent Medical Evacuation For Patients And Families From Gaza Amid Ongoing Crisis

The United Arab Emirates, in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO), has recently conducted a medical evacuation flight. This operation included 155 patients and injured individuals, along with their families, from the Gaza Strip. The flight took off from Ramon Airport in Israel via the Karam Abu Salem crossing. Since the crisis began, the UAE has evacuated 2,785 patients and their families to ensure they receive necessary medical care.

Under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the latest evacuation aims to provide medical treatment for 1,000 Palestinian children and 1,000 cancer patients across hospitals in the UAE. These efforts highlight the UAE's ongoing commitment to easing civilian suffering in Gaza and addressing the severe humanitarian crisis there.

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organisations and Vice Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, stressed the UAE's dedication to swift humanitarian action. This includes urgent transport of patients and injured civilians from Gaza. The UAE's unwavering support for Palestinians reflects its commitment to providing immediate aid and alleviating war-induced suffering.

Al Shamsi noted that Emirati medical teams have transported critically injured patients to hospitals in Abu Dhabi. Meanwhile, other patients and their families are housed at Emirates Humanitarian City. Here, they receive necessary medical care under specialised supervision. Additionally, Al Shamsi mentioned that the UAE offers various forms of support—medical, educational, and cultural—to help alleviate the crisis's impact on patients, children, women, and elderly people in Gaza.

The UAE has maintained its leading humanitarian initiatives since the crisis began. Working with UN organisations and international partners, it aims to reduce the catastrophic effects of ongoing conflicts in Gaza. These efforts include providing medical services, medication, and essential equipment through a hospital ship anchored at Egypt’s Al-Arish Port. Additionally, an Emirati field hospital operates in southern Gaza.

The continuous medical evacuation flights form part of a comprehensive humanitarian response plan designed to address urgent needs during this crisis. By offering relief to those most affected, these efforts underscore the UAE's role in supporting stability and reducing human suffering caused by conflict.

The UAE’s initiatives demonstrate a deep-rooted commitment to helping those affected by war and conflict without exception. Through these extensive efforts, including medical evacuations and support services, they aim to mitigate dire consequences faced by residents of Gaza.
