UAE, Malaysia Initiate First Joint Committee Meeting To Boost Economic Ties
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has hosted the inaugural UAE-Malaysia Joint Committee meeting in Abu Dhabi. Co-chaired by Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State, and Mohamad Bin Alamin, Deputy Foreign Minister of Malaysia, the session saw participation from officials of both nations. Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral economic partnerships across various sectors.
During the meeting, Al Sayegh praised the robust ties and fruitful cooperation between the UAE and Malaysia. He highlighted the continuous growth in economic partnerships and the steadfast support from both countries' leadership in strengthening these ties. Al Sayegh remarked that the committee's commencement reflects a mutual commitment to deepen current economic relations.

Al Sayegh stated, "The commencement of the first session of the UAE-Malaysia Joint Committee reflects our mutual commitment to deepen current economic relations and extend them to incorporate additional areas of mutual interest. These initiatives are in line with the UAE’s approach and the aspirations of its wise leadership to enhance bilateral cooperation with partners from various countries of the world."
The joint committee deliberated on innovative strategies to enhance bilateral trade and strengthen contributions from both Emirati and Malaysian private sectors. The discussions aimed at expanding cooperation and exploring new opportunities between the two sides. Additionally, the committee explored ways to achieve sustainable economic development.
Deputy Foreign Minister Bin Alamin expressed Malaysia's eagerness to reinforce economic partnerships and enhance cooperation with the UAE. He conveyed Malaysia's commitment to working closely with the UAE to realise their common vision of partnership and mutual prosperity.
Future Collaborations
The session concluded with the official signing of the draft minutes of the joint committee. Both sides agreed to hold the second session of the committee in Malaysia, ensuring continued close coordination in priority sectors. This agreement marks a significant step towards deepening economic ties and exploring new avenues for collaboration.
