UAE Consistently Ranked 10th In Global Soft Power Index For Second Year

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has maintained its position as the 10th most influential nation in the Brand Finance Soft Power Index, marking its second consecutive year in this prestigious spot. This achievement underscores the UAE's significant global influence and reputation, distinguishing it as the only Gulf country within the top 10 rankings. The announcement came during the Global Soft Power Summit in London, an event graced by notable personalities such as former British Prime Minister Sir John Major, and the First Ladies of Iceland and Ukraine, Eliza Jean Reid and Olena Zelenska, respectively.

The index, which surveyed over 170,000 individuals worldwide, assesses the soft power of the 193 United Nations member states. The UAE's consistent performance in this index reflects its growing stature on the international stage, driven by strategic initiatives across various sectors. Notably, the UAE ranked first in the 'Strong and Stable Economy' category, highlighting its successful economic diversification efforts away from oil dependency towards sectors like tourism, technology, renewable energy, and financial services.

UAE in Top 10 Soft Powers Globally

The UAE's leadership received high praise, ranking prominently in the 'Internationally Admired Leaders' indicator. This recognition is a testament to the UAE's balanced foreign policy and its role in promoting peace and enhancing diplomatic relations globally. Additionally, the country's future growth potential secured the third spot, attributed to its strategic investments in innovation and technology infrastructure development.

The country's effective communication strategies have bolstered its media presence, earning it the 10th position in the 'Affairs I Follow Closely' indicator. The UAE's commitment to humanitarian efforts was also recognized, ranking third in the 'Generous' indicator for its extensive support to countries and peoples through aid initiatives.

Diplomatic Influence and Business Image

In diplomatic circles, the UAE ranked eighth, reflecting its proactive engagement with international organizations. The nation's business and trade image was also acknowledged with a 10th-place ranking globally. This is indicative of the UAE's comprehensive legislation and its role as a leader in addressing regional and global challenges.

The value of the UAE's Nation Brand has seen a remarkable increase from $700 billion to a trillion dollars within three years, making it the most valuable national brand in the Middle East and Africa region. The Brand Finance Soft Power Index aims to evaluate countries based on their positive reputation and impact globally, covering aspects such as investment environment, living conditions, work opportunities, education quality, and overall visit experience.
