UAE And Kuwait Aim To Enhance Strategic Partnership In Recent Talks
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, recently hosted Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Minister of Interior. The meeting took place at Union House in Dubai.
During their discussions, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasised the enduring partnership between the UAE and Kuwait. He noted that this relationship has been strengthened by the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait.
The meeting highlighted significant progress achieved through various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Executive Programmes signed during the fifth session of the UAE-Kuwait Joint Higher Committee. This session was held earlier in Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Mohammed extended his best wishes for Kuwait's continued prosperity under its current leadership. He also stressed that both nations' development journeys are growing stronger each day.
Another key area discussed was enhancing trade relations and expanding tourism. Both sides agreed on leveraging popular attractions in their respective countries to boost tourism.
The meeting also underscored the importance of involving the private sector. They explored new investment opportunities to achieve ambitious goals for a better future for their peoples.
Regional and International Developments
The discussions also covered important regional and international issues, particularly focusing on the Middle East. Strategies to address regional challenges were explored with an emphasis on ensuring security and stability while working towards comprehensive peace.
The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials including H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority; Chairman of Dubai Airports; Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group; along with other Sheikhs and senior officials.
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, also attended the meeting. He highlighted that the steady progress in boosting UAE-Kuwait partnerships stems from deep-rooted fraternal ties established long ago by late leaders Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, and Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
