UAE-Kuwait Bilateral Ties Strengthened As Leaders Discuss Expanded Cooperation

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum met Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah in Dubai during an official working visit, with discussions centred on strengthening cooperation between the UAE and Kuwait, expanding bilateral partnerships, and supporting both countries’ long-term development priorities and shared regional interests.

The meeting between the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and the Kuwaiti Minister of Defence also addressed current regional and international developments, with both sides stressing the importance of coordinated positions and joint efforts, especially within the Gulf Cooperation Council framework, to support stability and sustainable growth.

Sheikh Abdullah’s visit to the UAE coincides with his participation in the ‘UAE & Kuwait: Brothers Forever’ week, which has commenced across all emirates, and the programme underscores the depth of relations between the UAE and Kuwait, highlighting shared values, close historical ties, and ongoing cooperation in political, economic, and cultural fields.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan welcomed Sheikh Abdullah and expressed appreciation for the visit, noting pride in the strong relations between the UAE and Kuwait and the close bonds between their peoples, and also pointed to the ongoing progress in bilateral relations under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan said: "The UAE and Kuwait are brothers forever. We look forward with confidence to a future of shared dreams and an unwavering determination to build a better tomorrow. Kuwait and its people are, and will always be, in our hearts: a fountain of nobility and beacon of wisdom."

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan added: "Celebrating the fraternal ties between the UAE and Kuwait, under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, conveys a message of profound appreciation and affection from the UAE to Kuwait. It reaffirms the depth of our historical partnership, our unified stance on regional and international matters, and our shared commitment to strengthening solidarity within the GCC."

UAE and Kuwait bilateral relations and high-level attendees

The meeting included senior UAE officials, reflecting the breadth of engagement between the UAE and Kuwait. Attendees were Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to His Highness the President of the UAE; Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi; Omar Sultan Al Olama; Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei; Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi; and Saeed Al Eter.

Discussions highlighted the importance of widening cooperation between the UAE and Kuwait across multiple sectors, including defence, economy, infrastructure, and media, while both parties reaffirmed the commitment of their leaderships to deepen bilateral ties, open new channels of collaboration, and support the aspirations of their peoples for a more stable and prosperous future.

Both sides underlined that expanding the strategic partnership between the UAE and Kuwait should serve national development plans in each country, align with GCC priorities, and respond to regional challenges, ensuring that cooperation remains focused on practical outcomes that enhance sustainable development and reflect the long-standing solidarity between the two neighbouring states.
