UAE Jiu-Jitsu Team Wins 9 Medals At The 2024 World Cup U14 In Greece
The UAE Jiu-Jitsu U-14 National Team, backed by Mubadala Investment Company, achieved remarkable success at the 2024 World Cup - U14 in Heraklion, Greece. Competing against 27 countries, they secured a total of 9 medals: 3 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze. This accomplishment highlights the UAE's strong presence in global jiu-jitsu and reflects the effectiveness of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation’s development initiatives.
Earlier, the UAE National Team (Adults) showcased their prowess at the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship held from October 24 to 26 in Heraklion. They retained their title for the fifth year in a row by winning 9 medals: 3 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze. Additionally, they earned a gold medal in the para jiu-jitsu category.

The UAE’s youth teams also excelled at the Jiu-Jitsu World Youth Championship. Competing in U-16, U-18, and U-21 categories, they amassed an impressive haul of 42 medals: 11 gold, 13 silver, and 18 bronze. This success underscores the depth of talent within the UAE and the Federation's commitment to nurturing future jiu-jitsu stars.
Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, a Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, expressed pride in the U-14 team's performance. He stated that their achievements demonstrate a solid foundation for jiu-jitsu's future in the UAE. "Our athletes demonstrated top skills, discipline, and resilience," he said. "This global success reflects the limitless support of our leadership and is a promising sign of the sport’s future."
Khalfan Al Qubaisi stood out by winning gold in the 52kg category at the World Cup. He shared his excitement about representing his country on such a prestigious stage. "Winning a medal at the World Cup and raising my country’s flag is beyond words," he remarked. The intense competition motivated him to continue striving for greater achievements.
The consistent victories across various age groups highlight not only individual talent but also strategic planning by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation.
