UAE Innovates 2025 Launches To Celebrate A Decade Of Innovation And Community Engagement

The UAE, guided by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has turned innovation into practical solutions. These efforts have boosted government efficiency, enhanced global competitiveness, and improved quality of life. The private sector and community are actively involved in crafting innovative solutions for future challenges.

Throughout February, "UAE Innovates 2025" will unfold across all seven emirates. This event will feature numerous innovative activities and events, culminating in Dubai with significant highlights like the UAE Innovates Exhibition. This exhibition will display innovations that have positively influenced government operations and society over the past decade.

Mohammad Al Gergawi highlighted that "UAE Innovates 2025" marks a decade of innovation in the UAE. It coincides with the tenth anniversary of the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation. This initiative continues to drive national development and position the UAE as a global innovation hub.

The theme for this year's event is "The Power of 10 – Where Does Your Strength Lie?" It serves as a nationwide platform uniting all societal segments. Over the past ten years, UAE Innovates has been crucial in fostering groundbreaking ideas and projects that enhance quality of life.

Huda Al Hashimi noted that UAE Innovation Month has been an open platform for promoting innovation in government and society for a decade. It has evolved from celebrating innovation to developing it into transformational projects, enhancing both government and private sector efficiency while improving quality of life.

This year’s edition aligns with the leadership's vision for 2025 as the "Year of Community," reaffirming the UAE's commitment to placing people at the centre of progress across various sectors," Al Gergawi added.

Awards Recognising Innovative Achievements

The fifth edition of the "UAE Innovates" Awards will also be launched during this event. Winning projects will be honoured at the closing ceremony on 26th February. Award categories include Most Innovative Use of Resources, Most Innovative Digital Transformation, Most Innovative Government Process, Most Innovative Disruptive Project, and Most Innovative Project in Sustainability.

Since its inception, the award has also included a category for Most Impactful Social Innovation. The evaluation and selection of winning projects will prioritise their impact on various segments of society.

Engaging Youth Through Pitch@Gov Program

This year’s edition coincides with 2025 being declared as the "Year of Community" in the UAE. In collaboration with United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) and Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund, MBRCGI will organise the sixth edition of Pitch@Gov Program. This special edition is designed for university students in the UAE focusing on "Renewable Energy for a Better Life."

This year’s edition will feature the highest financial support for projects since its inception, offering four winning projects a total of AED200,000. Winners will also join Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund’s accelerator program.

Exhibition Showcasing Transformative Projects

The event will feature "UAE Innovates 2025" Exhibition at The Boulevard at Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai. This largest edition since its inception showcases federal and local government entities presenting projects demonstrating innovation's power over the past decade.

The exhibition celebrates pioneering models positively impacting UAE society. It reflects visionary leadership embedding innovation as a distinctive identity in government work in the UAE.

"UAE Innovates" began as UAE Innovation Week in 2015 before evolving into UAE Innovation Month by its third edition in 2017. Over eight years, it has become a premier event celebrating innovation while fostering an innovative culture within communities.
