UAE Hosts 18th Regular Meeting Of GCC Shura And Representatives Councils To Enhance Parliamentary Cooperation
The UAE is set to host the 18th regular meeting of leaders from the Shura, Representatives, National, and Ummah Councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. This event will be led by Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC). Additionally, the 19th Parliamentary Coordination and Foreign Relations Committee meeting will also take place.
Saqr Ghobash has highlighted the importance of these gatherings in enhancing Gulf parliamentary collaboration. He stressed aligning efforts to achieve the GCC leaders' vision while addressing both regional and international developments. He noted that parliamentary diplomacy plays a crucial role in promoting shared interests of GCC states on global platforms.

Upon arriving in Abu Dhabi, Saudi Shura Council Speaker Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's dedication to strengthening GCC unity, security, and shared development. He expressed gratitude for the support of GCC leaders towards parliamentary meetings aimed at boosting inter-parliamentary coordination for regional growth.
Qatari Shura Council Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim emphasised the need for increased parliamentary cooperation amid current global challenges. He pointed out the necessity for unified Gulf positions to ensure political stability and economic resilience across the region.
Khalid Bin Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Omani Shura Council, underscored the role of legislative councils in fostering social, economic, and cultural ties within the Gulf. He praised UAE's leadership for hosting this event and expressed confidence in positive outcomes from these discussions.
Bahraini Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam commended the deep-rooted ties among Gulf nations and their collective identity. He emphasised that these parliamentary gatherings are vital for solidifying shared strategies and highlighted the need for sustainable strategic partnerships aligned with GCC’s long-term vision.
