UAE Ranks First Globally In Healthcare Quality And Accredited Facilities For 2025

In 2025, the UAE has solidified its position as a global leader in healthcare, achieving top rankings worldwide. The nation is recognised for having the highest number of accredited healthcare facilities globally. This success is due to a healthcare system that adheres to international standards and is well-prepared to manage pandemics and health risks, positioning the UAE among the top countries in healthcare quality.

The UAE's commitment to healthcare excellence is evident through its strategic investments in infrastructure. For the 2025 fiscal year, AED 5.745 billion, or 8% of the federal budget, was allocated to healthcare and community prevention services. This allocation underscores the country's dedication to advancing its health sector continuously.

UAE Leads in Global Healthcare Quality Rankings

The UAE has made significant strides in healthcare quality indicators, excelling in basic healthcare outcomes, infrastructure, and preventive care. The country ranks among the top 10 globally across 21 different health indicators and holds first place regionally and 20th globally for overall healthcare quality.

This leading status results from a comprehensive national health strategy that includes substantial investments in infrastructure and digital transformation. The focus on medical tourism further enhances the nation's reputation, reflecting its commitment to improving healthcare services and meeting community needs.

Recent reports indicate that the UAE's investment in healthcare continues to grow significantly. Healthcare spending is expected to reach approximately AED 151 billion by 2029, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.7%. This growth is driven by ongoing investments in infrastructure and services.

A report from the Ministry of Economy projects that by 2028, healthcare spending will hit US$26 billion. Additionally, the UAE plans to invest AED 118 billion by 2027, focusing on developing infrastructure and enhancing public-private partnerships.

Hospital Achievements

Mohaymen Abdelghany, CEO of Fakeeh University Hospital in Dubai, stated that their hospital received a 5-Star Rating in Global Hospital Rating by Newsweek & Statista. "This highlights the hospital’s role in setting new standards in patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and medical innovation," he noted.

The global hospital ranking is considered one of the most comprehensive evaluations within the sector. It assesses hospital performance using detailed quality indicators, showcasing institutions like Fakeeh University Hospital as leaders in medical care.

The UAE's ongoing efforts reflect its ambition to maintain its global standing while addressing local community needs effectively. By prioritising strategic investments and fostering partnerships, it aims to continue leading in healthcare innovation and quality service delivery worldwide.
