UAE Head Of Cyber Security Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti Lays Foundation For Safety And Security Building In Maldives
Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, the UAE Government's Head of Cyber Security, recently visited the Maldives. He laid the foundation for a new Safety and Security Building in Malé. The event was attended by Ali Ihusaan, Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ismail Naveen, Commissioner of Police for the Maldives Police Service, and representatives from Presight, a UAE company involved in the project.
The new building will be crucial for the Maldives' infrastructure. It will feature an advanced data centre and a Cyber Security Operations Centre for the Maldives Police Service. These facilities will utilise AI, big data analytics, and data science to enhance security threat monitoring and response. This initiative aims to support data-driven decision-making and improve proactive protection and operational planning.

This development aligns with the UAE leadership's directives to strengthen ties with the Republic of the Maldives. The project reflects a commitment to enhancing bilateral relations through collaborative efforts in technology and security. Presight is tasked with delivering this project to international standards, ensuring integrated technical infrastructure that protects sovereign data while improving operational efficiency.
During his visit, Dr. Al Kuwaiti also inaugurated the Maldives Police Service Cyber Security Operations Centre. This centre is designed to enhance capabilities in monitoring, detection, and analysis of cyber threats. It aims to increase readiness in addressing potential cyber challenges effectively.
Dr. Al Kuwaiti engaged in official discussions with key figures such as the Minister for Government Information and Technology and the Head of the National Cyber Security Centre in the Maldives. These meetings focused on cooperation in information technology and cybersecurity. They explored partnerships in AI and big data analytics, leveraging UAE's expertise in safeguarding critical infrastructure.
