UAE's Global Rail 2025 Exhibition Showcases Leadership In Sustainable Transport Initiatives

The UAE Government has prioritised the land transport sector, especially railways, as a key part of its Projects of the 50 initiative. In 2021, it launched the National Railway Programme with AED50 billion in investments. This marks the largest system of its kind in the nation. Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, highlighted this during an interview with Emirates News Agency (WAM) ahead of the Global Rail 2025 Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi.

Al Mazrouei stated that this investment is not just about infrastructure but a vision aimed at economic and developmental gains over AED200 billion. It also aims to reduce carbon emissions and improve road safety, aligning with the UAE Centennial 2071 goals. The railways are crucial for achieving the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative, offering a sustainable alternative to road transport.
