UAE Foreign Trade AI Platform To Be Delivered By Presight In AI-Driven Initiative

The Ministry of Foreign Trade is partnering with Abu Dhabi-based Presight, a G42 company, to build the Ministry of Foreign Trade AI Platform. The system is intended to support faster, data-led policy and operations, helping position the UAE as a leading hub for global trade flows and supply chains.

The Ministry plans to embed the AI Platform across all core activities as it works to become what it describes as the world’s first fully AI-driven trade ministry. Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, attended the signing ceremony for the cooperation agreement with Presight.

The Ministry of Foreign Trade AI Platform forms one of eight strategic pillars of the UAE Global Centre of Trade programme. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched this programme in November last year to reinforce the UAE’s role as a trading gateway and accelerate national foreign trade goals.

The UAE Global Centre of Trade, announced in November 2025, aims to expand non-oil exports and attract international trading and manufacturing firms. The programme also seeks to equip exporters with advanced tools and to map untapped demand worldwide, supporting long-term growth in goods and services trade.

Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, said the agreement is central to the Ministry’s agenda. "The United Arab Emirates has long recognized the potential of artificial intelligence to transform our economy and drive new efficiencies and new capabilities. Trade is one sector where AI can have the most immediate impact, replacing cumbersome, human-centered processes with real-time data analysis and forecasting to accelerate merchandise movements, reduce disruptions and identify high-potential opportunities. The partnership we have signed with Presight to deliver the Ministry of Foreign Trade AI Platform will enable the UAE to surpass our already ambitious foreign trade objectives, confirm our role as an essential hub on global supply chains, and create a model of excellence for other trading nations to follow."

The AI Platform is designed to analyse millions of data points in real time from ports, shipping routes, international regulations, customs records and trade agreements. Insights generated will help both public bodies and companies anticipate potential disruptions, identify emerging markets and understand varied regulatory demands across many jurisdictions.

Traders are expected to gain access to AI-based services such as smart certificates of origin and automated checks of market access conditions. For the Ministry of Foreign Trade, the system will provide deeper analytical capability to support evidence-based policymaking and to strengthen the UAE’s position when negotiating trade agreements with partner economies.

Mansoor Al Mansoori, Vice Chairman of Presight, said the Ministry’s new AI Platform would reinforce the country’s role in global logistics networks. "The future of trade belongs to economies that can see early and move fast. By putting real-time insight into the hands of decision-makers, we reduce friction, compress timelines, and help governments and businesses operate with confidence. This is how we translate AI into competitiveness, making speed, resilience, and quality the UAE’s contribution to a faster, more trusted global trading system."

Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight, highlighted the wider implications for international commerce. "This partnership is a significant moment, not just for Presight and the Ministry of Foreign Trade, but for the global trading system as a whole. Our solutions will deliver new operational efficiencies that can unlock a new era of seamless global trade, both by removing the frictions and disruptions that can cost economies billions of dollars and by instantaneously matching demand with supply. The Ministry of Foreign Trade AI Platform will become the gold-standard for the sector – in keeping with the UAE’s status as a global trade facilitator."

The agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Presight links national digital capabilities with a broad trade policy agenda, from export promotion to supply chain resilience. As the AI Platform is rolled out, the UAE expects to sharpen competitive advantage in global trade, while offering a model of data-driven practice for other markets.
