FAHR Hosts Workshop To Advance UAE Government Efficiency Through Zero Bureaucracy Program
In a significant move towards enhancing government efficiency and service quality, the UAE Prime Minister's Office, in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), recently initiated the "Zero Government Bureaucracy Program". This initiative marks a pivotal step in the UAE's journey towards global leadership and competitiveness by streamlining government operations. A dedicated workshop was organized at FAHR's headquarters in Dubai to delve into the program's objectives, implementation strategies, and expected outcomes.
The workshop saw active participation from key figures including Laila Obaid Al Suwaidi, Director-General of FAHR; Ibrahim Ahmed Fikri, CEO of Support Services Sector and Head of FAHR's Zero Bureaucracy Team; alongside CEOs, Directors of Departments, and members of FAHR's Zero Bureaucracy Team. A representative from the Office of the Prime Minister also contributed to the discussions, emphasizing the program's comprehensive approach towards enhancing governmental procedures and services.

Laila Al Suwaidi underscored the critical role of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Program in aligning with the UAE government’s vision for global supremacy through streamlined, efficient, and customer-centric government processes. Ibrahim Fikri highlighted FAHR's proactive measures in implementing the program across various levels, including services, systems, policies, initiatives, and projects. The formation of a dedicated team to oversee this transformation underscores FAHR's commitment to this national endeavor.
Hesham Amiri, UAE Government Service Advisor in the Office of Prime Minister, outlined the program's key areas and its broad application scope. He pointed out its significance as a milestone in enhancing customer experiences by eliminating unnecessary procedures and fostering a more responsive government mechanism. The program not only aims to simplify government processes but also actively seeks customer feedback to continuously refine service delivery.
The ambitious targets set by the Zero Government Bureaucracy Program include the cancellation of at least 2,000 government procedures, halving the time required for remaining procedures, and eliminating all superfluous conditions within a year. These measures are expected to significantly contribute to the UAE’s stature in global competitiveness rankings by ensuring government efficiency and minimal bureaucracy. The culmination of these efforts will be celebrated by evaluating the progress and recognizing outstanding achievements by the end of 2024.
This initiative represents a strategic effort by the UAE to enhance its administrative operations and service delivery mechanisms. By prioritizing efficiency and customer satisfaction, the Zero Government Bureaucracy Program is set to play a crucial role in advancing the UAE's vision for a leading position on the global stage.
