UAE Conducts Evacuation Of 127 Injured Patients From Gaza Amid Humanitarian Crisis

The United Arab Emirates, in partnership with the World Health Organisation, carried out its 23rd evacuation flight on Tuesday. This humanitarian mission aimed to evacuate 55 critically injured individuals and patients from the Gaza Strip. Among them were children and cancer patients requiring urgent treatment. They were transported from Ramon airport in Israel via the Karam Abu Salam crossing to receive medical care in UAE hospitals, accompanied by 72 family members.

This initiative is part of a broader effort launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, in October 2023. The goal is to provide medical treatment for 1,000 children and 1,000 cancer patients from Gaza in UAE hospitals. To date, 2,254 patients and their family members have been brought to the UAE under this programme.

The UAE's commitment to humanitarian aid highlights the urgent need for intervention to save lives in Gaza. This initiative underscores the country's dedication to supporting Palestinians amid ongoing challenges. The UAE continues to facilitate communication lines to assist Gaza's people during these critical times.

Efforts by the UAE extend beyond evacuation flights. Since December 2nd, 2023, a field hospital established in southern Gaza has treated 50,489 cases. Additionally, a floating hospital ship anchored at Al-Arish Port since February 2024 has provided care for 8,597 cases so far.

In addition to medical support, the UAE has delivered approximately 50,000 tonnes of essential aid to Palestinians. This includes food, medical supplies, and other relief items aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by those affected by ongoing circumstances.

The UAE's actions reflect a steadfast commitment to providing advanced healthcare and relief to those in need. These efforts are crucial in offering support during challenging times for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The continued provision of aid and medical assistance demonstrates the UAE's dedication to humanitarian causes. By extending help during such critical periods, the country reaffirms its role as a key supporter of Palestinian welfare amidst adversity.
