UAE Embassy In Seoul Hosts Tolerance Iftar To Mark Ramadan
In a significant event that underscores the United Arab Emirates' commitment to fostering global harmony and understanding, Abdulla Saif Al Nuaimi, the UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, hosted an Iftar gathering themed ‘Tolerance’ at his residence in Seoul. This event, aimed at celebrating the values of dialogue, understanding, and coexistence, saw the participation of a diverse group of attendees including prominent Korean officials, members from various religious communities, academics, media personnel, and influential figures.
The Iftar, which is part of an annual tradition, serves as a platform to advocate for intercultural and interreligious dialogue, reinforcing the principles of peaceful coexistence and tolerance. Among the notable attendees was Kim Chang-Mo, Secretary General of the Korea-Arab Society (KAS), highlighting the importance of such gatherings in strengthening international relationships.
In his welcoming address, Al Nuaimi highlighted the UAE's dedication to breaking down barriers related to race, colour, and ethnicity, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. "The UAE celebrates this holy month by embracing the essence of tolerance that defines our nation," he remarked. He further emphasized the UAE's role as a beacon of coexistence and progress, where moderation and respect for others are deeply ingrained in Emirati society.
Before the commencement of the Iftar, attendees were presented with a short video titled ‘Tolerance’, which underscored its significance as a foundational value within UAE society. The video served as a poignant reminder of the country's unwavering commitment to these ideals.
The event also provided an opportunity for guests to immerse themselves in Emirati culture and traditions. They gained insights into the development and prosperity of the UAE, which holds the unique distinction of having a ‘Special Strategic Partnership’ with the Republic of Korea.
