World Governments Summit: Abdullah Bin Zayed Hosts Bilateral Meetings In Dubai

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit in Dubai, focusing on deepening cooperation with participating countries and highlighting the summit’s role in shaping international dialogue on shared challenges and government collaboration.

During the discussions, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasised that the World Governments Summit serves as a key global forum for dialogue among governments, knowledge exchange, and the sharing of best practices in public policy, especially in areas linked to sustainable development, innovation, and long-term global stability.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan underscored the UAE’s commitment to backing multilateral international efforts and building partnerships centred on sustainable development and innovation. He noted that such cooperation aims to support a more stable and prosperous future for communities worldwide, with the summit offering a regular platform for these discussions among senior officials.

In one meeting, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed received Carlos Ramiro Martínez Alvarado, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guatemala. The two sides reviewed existing bilateral relations and explored ways to expand and advance them. The talks covered methods to align cooperation with mutual interests, along with a number of regional and international issues of common concern.

Another session brought together H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Edouard Bizimana, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Development Cooperation of the Republic of Burundi. Their discussions focused on strengthening joint cooperation frameworks between the UAE and Burundi across multiple sectors, with particular attention to development-related fields and opportunities for future collaborative projects.

In a separate meeting with Delina Ibrahimaj, Minister of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Albania, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed reviewed topics on the official World Governments Summit agenda. The two sides also examined ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation, highlighting prospects for expanding bilateral ties in investment, innovation, and broader economic partnership.

The meetings were attended by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade; Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; and Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State. The engagements reflected the UAE’s use of the World Governments Summit to advance diplomatic relations, support international cooperation, and discuss practical responses to shared global challenges.
