UAE Provides Urgent Humanitarian Aid To Myanmar In Response To Earthquake Crisis
Under the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has swiftly sent humanitarian aid to Myanmar. This action is in response to the recent earthquake that impacted the nation. The initiative was carried out by the Joint Operations Command, working alongside several key organisations.
The UAE's commitment to humanitarian causes is evident through this effort. The aid package includes over 200 tonnes of essential supplies such as food, shelter materials, and medical assistance. These resources aim to help those affected by the disaster and support their recovery process.
This operation involved collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, Emirates Red Crescent, National Guard Command, and Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. Together, they facilitated multiple airlifts to deliver the aid efficiently.
Following successful missions by Emirati rescue teams in Myanmar's affected regions, this aid shipment further strengthens the UAE's global efforts in aiding communities hit by disasters. The UAE continues to play a significant role in international humanitarian responses.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein expressed gratitude for the UAE's support. He thanked President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for his generous assistance during these difficult times. He highlighted that this gesture showcases strong humanitarian ties and solidarity.
