UAE And Croatian Leaders Convene In Zagreb To Bolster Bilateral Ties
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković in Zagreb. The meeting included Davor Božinović, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and Gordan Grlić Radman, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs. This visit aimed to discuss cooperation and partnership between the UAE and Croatia.
During their discussions, both sides explored ways to enhance collaboration in various sectors such as economic investment, renewable energy, climate change, and other areas of mutual interest. They focused on supporting comprehensive development and sustainable economic prosperity for both nations.
Prime Minister Plenković announced Croatia's plan to open an embassy in the UAE. This move is part of efforts to deepen bilateral relations across different levels. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah expressed his happiness at visiting Croatia, noting the solid and evolving relations between the two countries.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah highlighted that both nations are committed to advancing their relationship to new levels of growth and prosperity for the benefit of their peoples. He extended his best wishes for Croatia's progress and prosperity during the meeting.
Additionally, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan signed a memorandum of understanding with Davor Božinović concerning mutual recognition and exchange of driving licences between the UAE's Ministry of Interior and Croatia's Ministry of Interior.
Another memorandum was signed by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah and Gordan Grlić Radman on political consultations between the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Croatia's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
Attendees
The meeting was attended by Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs, and Ahmed Alattar, Non-Resident Ambassador of the UAE to Croatia. Their presence underscored the importance of this diplomatic engagement.
The discussions also included exchanging views on several issues of common interest. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to fostering stronger ties through continued dialogue and cooperation.
