UAE Reinforces Commitment To Gaza With Continued Humanitarian Aid

On World Humanitarian Day, observed on 19th August, the UAE underscores its dedication to humanitarian efforts through its continuous relief operations in Gaza. The UAE's "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3" has been pivotal in delivering aid to Palestinians, showcasing the nation's unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes.

Over the last 288 days, the UAE has sent four relief ships carrying 18,530 tonnes of diverse aid, including medical supplies, shelter materials, food, water, and clothing. Additionally, 257 planes have transported 5,340 tonnes of aid and 104 convoys have delivered 19,819 tonnes of assistance to support displaced populations.

UAE's Ongoing Aid to Gaza

The UAE's "Birds of Goodness" initiative has also played a crucial role by executing 50 airdrops that delivered over 3,382 tonnes of essential aid to isolated areas in northern Gaza. This initiative ensures that even the most inaccessible regions receive necessary supplies.

The UAE has significantly bolstered Gaza's healthcare sector by supporting hospitals and treating the injured. This includes operating the UAE field hospital in Rafah and the Floating Hospital in Egypt's Al Arish. These facilities provide critical medical care to those in need.

Furthermore, the operation has delivered 400 tonnes of medical supplies to hospitals and international organisations. These supplies include advanced equipment and prosthetic limbs, enhancing the capacity of local healthcare providers.

Infrastructure Development

In a broader effort to support Gaza's infrastructure, the UAE has constructed six water desalination plants with a combined capacity of 1.2 million gallons per day. Additionally, vital water lines in Khan Younis have been repaired to ensure a steady supply of clean water.

The UAE also provided water transport vehicles, sanitation equipment, and other essential resources. These efforts aim to help local authorities meet the needs of displaced families effectively.

The UAE's ongoing humanitarian initiatives highlight its leading role in global relief operations. Consistently delivering aid and support to those in need demonstrates its commitment to alleviating human suffering worldwide.
