UAE's Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Highlights Commitment To Strengthen Economic Ties With Africa

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has reiterated the UAE's dedication to enhancing economic connections with Africa. He emphasised the continent's potential for growth and investment, especially in tourism. The UAE sees Africa's natural resources and sustainable tourism goals as aligning with its global tourism vision.

The UAE-Africa Tourism Investment Summit 2025 commenced on Monday under the theme ‘Building Bridges for Sustainable Growth.’ This event gathered tourism ministers, government leaders, and investors from across Africa. The summit underscores the UAE’s role in shaping global tourism and promoting sustainable growth.

During a meeting at Expo City Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed welcomed summit delegates to the UAE. He stressed the importance of shared visions and innovative ideas to advance economic partnerships with African nations. The aim is to strengthen existing partnerships and explore new opportunities.

Sheikh Mohammed highlighted that tourism offers significant potential for sustainable growth and cultural exchange. He praised Africa's growing influence in the global economy and its abundant opportunities. Cooperation between the UAE and Africa in tourism investment exemplifies economic integration based on mutual interests.

"Tourism is a vital contributor to our national economy," said H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid. "The UAE-Africa partnership holds immense promise." He noted that this partnership is characterised by a shared belief in exploring new cooperation avenues for a better future.

The summit was attended by over 350 leaders, including senior government officials, ministers, decision-makers, investors, and entrepreneurs from the UAE and 53 African countries. Discussions centred on strengthening economic ties between the UAE and Africa while exploring new cooperation areas.

Exploring New Avenues for Collaboration

This renewed focus aims to attract fresh investments into various sectors, notably tourism. It supports development aspirations across Africa. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, also attended the meeting.

African ministers expressed appreciation for the UAE’s pioneering economic model and its status as a top tourist destination. They praised its comprehensive development achievements and successful tourism sector, which offer insights into attracting global investments.

Investment in Infrastructure and Innovation

The delegates voiced hope that both regions could identify new collaboration avenues in tourism investment. This would support comprehensive development roadmaps on both sides. The summit focuses on key themes such as investment in tourism projects, financing, infrastructure, hospitality, innovative services, and sustainable development.

The discussions aim to broaden ties between the UAE and Africa by exploring untapped opportunities for collaboration. This approach will help establish world-class infrastructure while supporting mutual development goals.
