UAE Civil Aviation Day Celebrates National Achievements And Leadership In Global Aviation Sector
The United Arab Emirates is celebrating "UAE Civil Aviation Day," highlighting its aviation sector's significant achievements and global impact. This year is notable as the UAE was re-elected for the seventh time to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Council, affirming its influential role in shaping international aviation policies.
During the first eight months of 2025, UAE airports saw around 102.9 million passengers, a 5.3% increase from 97.9 million in the same period of 2024. This growth underscores the sector's competitiveness and expansion. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum noted that UAE airports continue to offer world-class services to travellers globally.

Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, emphasised that this year's Civil Aviation Day coincides with a significant milestone for the UAE's aviation sector. The country's re-election to the ICAO Council highlights international recognition of its leadership and strategic vision. He stressed their commitment to advancing safety, sustainability, and innovation globally.
Sheikh Khalid bin Issam Al Qasimi highlighted that visionary leadership and ambitious plans have positioned the UAE as a key player in global civil aviation. He mentioned Sharjah's historic first passenger aircraft landing as a foundation for ongoing ambition and excellence in aviation.
Eng. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi praised the UAE aviation sector's efficiency and world-class performance through improved services and infrastructure development. Ras Al Khaimah International Airport is undergoing projects to enhance passenger experience and operational capacity, contributing to sector growth.
Mohammed Abdullah Al-Salami stated that UAE Civil Aviation Day celebrates the nation's civil aviation journey, reflecting resilience and adherence to global standards. Fujairah continues enhancing its aviation infrastructure through projects at Fujairah International Airport, boosting efficiency and competitiveness.
