UAE's Chivalrous Knight 3 Initiative Provides Vital Humanitarian Aid To Gaza Residents

The UAE has been quick to respond to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, following directives from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The nation prioritised medical care, urgent relief, and support for health and infrastructure services through "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3." This initiative underscores the UAE's commitment to aiding Palestinians during this challenging time.

In a significant move, the UAE established a field hospital in Rafah, Gaza last year. Despite ongoing military actions, it continues to operate effectively. The hospital includes various departments and specialised clinics that have treated 48,704 injured individuals so far. This facility plays a crucial role in providing much-needed medical assistance.

The UAE's health sector support extends beyond hospitals. It has delivered 736.25 tonnes of medical supplies to Gaza, including medicines and emergency kits. Additionally, the UAE has contributed to rehabilitating and expanding hospitals and health centres, ensuring better healthcare access for residents amid limited resources.

Another key initiative is the deployment of a floating hospital in Al Arish, Egypt. This facility is fully equipped to receive injured Palestinians and has provided specialised surgical care and outpatient services. Since its operation began, it has treated 5,040 cases, offering critical medical support to those affected by the conflict.

As part of "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3," the UAE introduced a prosthetics programme for Gaza residents who lost limbs due to conflict. This initiative provides advanced prosthetic limbs, helping recipients regain mobility and independence. Psychological support and rehabilitation are also offered to assist individuals in adjusting to their new circumstances.

The UAE launched an initiative to evacuate 1,000 children and 1,000 cancer patients from Gaza for specialised treatment in the UAE. This effort covers treatment costs and medications, aiming to alleviate suffering amid limited medical resources in Gaza.

Strategic Transport of Aid

The UAE has executed a complex logistical operation to deliver aid via air, land, and sea routes. Humanitarian aid reached Gaza through 273 cargo planes, five cargo ships, and six ships from Cyprus. In total, over 34,000 tonnes of aid were transported using 1,284 trucks.

The "Birds of Goodness" operation by the UAE's Joint Operations Command used C-17 aircraft for air-dropping aid into isolated areas in Gaza. To date, this operation has completed 53 drops delivering 3,623 tonnes of relief supplies.

Water Projects

The UAE established six water desalination plants in Al Arish with a daily capacity of two million gallons. These plants supply water to over one million people in Gaza. Additionally, emergency support was provided to municipalities with water trucks and essential equipment.

Projects were undertaken to repair damaged water lines and networks in Khan Yunis and North Gaza. These efforts improved access to water for residents while enhancing living conditions amidst challenging circumstances.

Continued Humanitarian Commitment

The UAE remains committed to supporting vital sectors in Gaza despite devastation and displacement challenges. Volunteers from "Chivalrous Knight 3" continue distributing humanitarian aid such as shelter tents, winter clothing, food parcels, children's essentials like dates or vegetables along with cleaning supplies bread or water.

A year after launching one of its most extensive relief operations in Gaza; the UAE reaffirms dedication towards alleviating hardships faced by Palestinian people striving towards improving their living conditions under difficult circumstances.
