UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Meets Chad President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno To Strengthen Bilateral Ties

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, recently engaged in discussions with His Excellency Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, President of Chad. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties and addressing regional and international matters of shared interest. The talks took place during President Déby Itno's official visit to the UAE.

Welcoming the Chadian leader and his delegation at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, His Highness emphasised the growing relationship between the UAE and Chad across various sectors. Both leaders expressed their commitment to expanding cooperation in trade, economy, investment, energy, and infrastructure. This collaboration aims to foster development and deliver tangible benefits for both nations.

President Déby Itno expressed gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality extended by His Highness. He appreciated the strong cooperation between Chad and the UAE, highlighting its significance for both countries.

The meeting was attended by several prominent UAE officials. These included His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; Mohamed bin Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defence Affairs; Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office; and Rashid Saeed Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Chad.

The delegation accompanying President Déby Itno also participated in these discussions. Their presence underscored the importance both nations place on their diplomatic relationship.
