UAE Calidus Group Achieves Success At IDEX 2025 With Innovative Defense Solutions
The Emirati Calidus Group, known for its expertise in defense design and manufacturing, recently wrapped up its role as a main sponsor at the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2025) and the Naval Defence and Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX 2025) in Abu Dhabi. The event was marked by significant contracts and deals for cutting-edge defense systems crafted by Emirati professionals.
During the five-day exhibition, Calidus introduced several innovations, including a new 8x8 vehicle. This eight-wheel-drive vehicle is engineered to withstand extreme conditions in various operations. Fully designed and manufactured locally, it stands as one of the most advanced vehicles globally and is a first in regional design and manufacturing.

Calidus also displayed the MATV004 and MATV001 armoured vehicles. These vehicles provide superior armoured protection while maintaining agility and compatibility with diverse military mission systems. The MATV004 is specifically equipped to carry the Al Heda missile system alongside other sophisticated defense solutions.
Among other innovations, Calidus introduced the "Barq" rocket launcher system. This system boasts high mobility, formidable firepower, and state-of-the-art technological features. Additionally, they showcased a reconnaissance vehicle with a four-wheel-drive system that integrates modern surveillance technologies for enhanced maneuverability.
The company presented advanced defense systems like the 35mm Burj turret system. This dual-barrel system is designed for close-range air defense and is mounted on the "Wahash" 8x8 vehicle. Another highlight was the 155mm Lahab turret artillery system, noted as a regional first.
Throughout IDEX 2025, Calidus engaged with industry leaders, decision-makers, and experts worldwide. They shared their comprehensive vision focused on technology, artificial intelligence applications, and integrating locally produced advanced military products to cater to nations seeking cutting-edge defense innovations.
