UAE And China Explore Strategic Partnership Opportunities At Beijing Economic Forum
The UAE showcased its participation at the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) 2024, held in Beijing. The event, themed ‘Global Services, Shared Prosperity,’ highlighted the UAE's commitment to international trade. Dr. Abdulrahman Hassan Al Muaini and Khaled Mohammed Al Shehhi co-opened the UAE pavilion alongside Guo Huai Gang. Representatives from both countries' government and private sectors attended the opening.
On the sidelines of CIFTIS, the ‘UAE - Beijing Economic Forum’ was organised by Beijing and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. This forum celebrated 40 years of UAE-China relations under the theme ‘Forty Years of Prosperity.’ Discussions focused on strategic partnerships and cooperation in technology and new economy sectors. The forum also explored intellectual property applications in creative industries.

Dr. Al Muaini highlighted that the UAE-China partnership is reaching new heights due to shared leadership commitments. He stated that participating in CIFTIS and the economic forum underscores both nations' strategic visions and plans. Their collaboration aims to enhance innovative economic and service solutions development.
He remarked: "The exhibition is one of the most prominent global events in the services trade, which provides a valuable opportunity to the participating countries to strengthen cooperation in this regard." He emphasised its role as a platform for promoting national industries, especially in manufacturing, technology, innovation, and new economy sectors.
The UAE pavilion at CIFTIS introduced visitors to its status as a sustainable trade destination for diverse services and economic sectors. Attendees learned about incentives offered by the UAE’s business environment, reinforcing its position as a global hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
The UAE-Beijing Economic Forum examined joint business initiatives within UAE-China relations, supporting global and regional economic growth. It reviewed successful projects on both sides, particularly in investment, trade, innovation, technological industries, and energy sectors.
Dr. Al Muaini also acknowledged the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade's role in facilitating trade partnerships between both countries. This cooperation focuses on developing creative and innovative industries.
The forum aimed to foster dialogue between governments and private sectors of both nations. It sought new opportunities to advance their strategic partnership further.
