UAE Armed Forces Unification Strengthens National Unity And Security, Says Ajman Ruler

The unification of the UAE Armed Forces is a pivotal decision that strengthens national unity and security, according to H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman. Marking the 49th anniversary of this event, he expressed pride in the forces' role in defending the nation. "On this glorious national day, we celebrate the anniversary of the unification of the UAE Armed Forces under one flag and one unified command. We express our pride and appreciation for our brave men who have shouldered the responsibility of defending our precious homeland and safeguarding its achievements and accomplishments," he stated.

Sheikh Humaid highlighted that May 6, 1976, marked a significant milestone when the UAE's founding fathers established unified armed forces. This move was crucial for ensuring security and stability under Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's leadership. The unification is not just a historical event but represents a steadfast national will and belief in a shared destiny. It embodies the spirit of unity upon which the UAE was founded.

He further explained that this strategic decision laid a foundation for strengthening national sovereignty. It helped build a defensive force that protects achievements, defends principles, and contributes to maintaining security and stability. The UAE Armed Forces have become a global model of efficiency and loyalty to both nation and leadership.

The UAE Armed Forces play an essential role in maintaining peace locally, regionally, and internationally. They also assist disaster-stricken areas worldwide. Sheikh Humaid emphasised their achievements in capacity development and readiness, noting that these efforts enhance confidence in the nation's secure future. He remarked on their heroism and sacrifices as vital to ensuring prosperity.

Sheikh Humaid extended heartfelt congratulations to key leaders including His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President; His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan; other Supreme Council Members; Rulers of Emirates; citizens; and all members of the Armed Forces.

Honouring Sacrifices

"We remember with great reverence and gratitude the nation's martyrs who sacrificed their lives for it, and we ask God to grant them His vast mercy," said Sheikh Humaid. He expressed deep appreciation for every officer and soldier tirelessly working to keep the homeland safe. Supporting these forces remains a national duty to ensure they continue their noble mission.

In his concluding remarks, Sheikh Humaid reaffirmed commitment to stand united behind the Armed Forces as they defend the nation’s security while promoting comprehensive development.
