RAK Ruler Celebrates UAE Armed Forces Unification As Historic Milestone

On the significant occasion of the 48th Armed Forces Unification Day, H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, highlighted the pivotal role of the UAE Armed Forces' unification on 6th May 1976. This historic decision, as emphasized by Sheikh Saud, marked a turning point in the nation's journey, showcasing the foresight and resolve of the UAE's Founding Fathers. The unification under a single command, motto, and flag was not just a strategic move but a testament to the unity and strength of the federation. It underscored a collective commitment to safeguarding the homeland, ensuring its security and stability, and supporting global peace and humanitarian efforts.

The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, along with his fellow Founding Fathers, was credited for this visionary decision that initiated a new era of development and modernization within the Armed Forces. According to H.H. Sheikh Saud, this move was aimed at preparing highly efficient national military cadres and equipping them with advanced military technologies. The ultimate goal was to position the Emirati military institutions as globally recognized models of progress and efficiency.

Sheikh Saud further reflected on the unification decision as an extension of the values of loyalty, belonging, and pride in the Union's principles—values deeply ingrained in the Emirati people by the Founding Fathers. This decision was also seen as a cornerstone of the Union and a strategic step towards creating a formidable force capable of defending the UAE's achievements, lands, waters, and skies.

The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah also acknowledged the continuous support and attention given to the armed forces by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Following in the footsteps of Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President Mohamed has been instrumental in advancing the armed forces through significant investments in military technology and defence industries. This has ensured that the UAE's armed forces remain at the forefront of modern military institutions.

On this momentous day, H.H. Sheikh Saud extended his warmest congratulations to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, as well as all personnel and officers of the Armed Forces and the people of UAE.

He concluded with a hopeful message for continued prosperity, security, and progress for the UAE in the years to come.
