UAE Extends Arab Government Excellence Award To Promote Leadership And Innovation In Public Sector
The UAE Government, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has extended the Arab Government Excellence Award for another four years. This initiative, in partnership with the Arab League, aims to enhance leadership performance within the region's public sector. The agreement was signed by Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Mohammad Al Gergawi at the World Governments Summit.
Ahmed Aboul Gheit highlighted the award's role as a motivator and catalyst for improving government efficiency in Arab countries. He stressed its importance in fostering innovative approaches that lead to high productivity and effectiveness. The award encourages governments to adopt bold strategies, embrace competitiveness, and strive for excellence.

Mohammad Al Gergawi stated that the award aligns with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's directives to inspire Arab governments and public sector leaders. It encourages them to focus on innovation and develop best practices that institutionalise excellence and quality performance across the region.
The Arab Government Excellence Award embodies a shared vision between the UAE and the Arab League. Launched in May 2019, the award seeks to motivate government institutions in the Arab world to adopt global best practices. Its goals include enhancing institutional performance, improving public service delivery, promoting positive competition, and facilitating knowledge exchange.
