Tunisian Minister Of Culture Commends Sharjah’s Role In Arab Arts And Culture

Ameena Al Serarfi, the Tunisian Minister of Cultural Affairs, commended Sharjah's cultural initiatives under the patronage of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi. She highlighted Sharjah's significant role in fostering creativity and excellence across literary fields.

During a meeting with Abdullah bin Mohammad Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture in Sharjah, and Mohammad Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of the Cultural Affairs Department at the Department of Culture in Sharjah, Al Serarfi praised Sharjah's continuous efforts to enrich the Arab world's creative scene through various forums and festivals.

Sharjah's Cultural Impact Praised

Al Serarfi noted that Sharjah’s cultural activation has significantly contributed to the Arab world’s creative landscape. She described these efforts as practical achievements that add to Sharjah’s cultural and humanitarian accomplishments.

The meeting took place at the ministry’s headquarters in Tunis during the launch of the 20th edition of the Sharjah Narrative Forum. This forum aims to offer deep analytical discussions on narrative forms and new transformations in storytelling.

Al Serarfi emphasized the strong relationship between Tunisia and the UAE, particularly their close cooperation with Sharjah on cultural projects. She expressed Tunisia's pleasure with these broad cultural partnerships and their positive impact on creativity at both local and Arab levels.

She also mentioned that Tunisia is celebrating with Sharjah as it hosts the 20th edition of the Sharjah Narrative Forum. The forum tours various Arab countries, providing a platform for discussing narrative developments.

Minister's Personal Connection

The Tunisian Minister shared her fondness for Sharjah, recalling her visit there nearly two decades ago with a female musical group. She stressed the importance of music as a "twin of poetry" and praised Sharjah’s cultural and artistic contributions.

Abdullah Al Owais stated that under Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi’s guidance, Sharjah aims for sustainable cultural development through dynamic engagement with cooperating institutions. He highlighted Tunisia's rich cultural contributions and its role in advancing cultural work towards new horizons.

Future Cultural Collaborations

The two parties agreed to organize new cultural forums focusing on Arabic calligraphy and music. These initiatives aim to support creators and contribute to development in these creative fields.

Al-Owais presented Minister Al Serarfi with the September issue of "Shariqa Al Thaqafiyah" Magazine, which features a cover photo of Sousse, a jewel of Tunisia’s coast. The magazine also includes an article dedicated to Tunisian writer Ali Douaji, titled "Abu al Qissah al Tunisiya."

He provided a detailed explanation of the magazine’s various cultural topics, highlighting its celebration of Tunisia’s rich heritage.

This collaboration between Tunisia and Sharjah underscores their commitment to fostering creativity and enriching cultural dialogue across the Arab world.
