UAE Welcomes Three New Companies Specialising In Clean Energy Technology To NextGenFDI Initiative
The UAE Ministry of Economy has announced the inclusion of three clean energy technology firms from China and the US in the NextGenFDI programme. This move highlights the UAE's position as a hub for innovative enterprises. These companies will aid in advancing the UAE's clean-energy objectives and support its shift towards a sustainable, low-carbon economy.
Enerflow, HyGreen Energy, and Enpower Greentech are the three companies joining this initiative. Enerflow specialises in vanadium flow battery technology, aiming to extend rechargeable battery lifecycles from four to ten hours for clean-energy storage. HyGreen Energy focuses on developing water electrolysis hydrogen equipment for industries like steel and petrochemical. Enpower Greentech collaborates with automotive OEMs and eVTOL companies globally to innovate solid-state batteries (ASSBs).

Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, welcomed these additions, emphasising the programme's role in driving innovation in critical sectors like clean energy within the UAE. He stated that these companies have developed pioneering solutions aligning with the UAE’s vision for a sustainable future.
"The three new members to the NextGen FDI programme have each developed pioneering solutions that align with the UAE’s vision for a sustainable, low-carbon future," said Dr. Al Zeyoudi. "Their involvement in NextGenFDI underscores our commitment to support strategic investment into high-impact technologies and clean-energy solutions in particular."
Since its inception in 2022, NextGenFDI has aimed to attract innovation-driven companies worldwide by offering market-entry benefits such as fast-track setup, licensing, visa issuance, and access to financial services. Companies also benefit from the growing network of NextGenFDI, facilitating knowledge sharing and expansion into local and regional markets.
Bo Wang, Chairman of Enerflow, expressed enthusiasm about joining the programme: "The United Arab Emirates stands as the perfect gateway for expanding into key markets across the Middle East and Europe." He highlighted that Enerflow is eager to contribute its expertise in vanadium flow battery energy storage to this dynamic region.
