UAE Dispatches Third Aid Ship To Gaza With 4,500 Tonnes Of Relief Materials
Under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), the United Arab Emirates is set to dispatch a third aid ship to El Arish, Egypt, within the next two days. This initiative, part of the "Gallant Knight 3" operation, aims to deliver 4,500 tonnes of relief materials to support the people of Gaza. The cargo includes a wide range of essential items such as food, medical supplies, nutritional supplements for children, winter clothes, and shelter materials.
The decision to send this aid ship aligns with the UAE's ongoing humanitarian efforts to provide assistance to those affected in Gaza by recent events. This initiative underscores the nation's commitment to supporting the Palestinian people during their time of need. The timing of this aid shipment is particularly significant as it coincides with the start of the Holy Month of Ramadan, aiming to meet the needs of Gaza's population during this sacred period.

A comprehensive plan has been developed in collaboration with ERC teams on the ground to ensure the efficient distribution of aid to the most affected regions in Gaza. The ERC is dedicated to addressing the significant humanitarian challenges faced by Palestinians, with a special emphasis on ensuring adequate food supplies during Ramadan.
Previously, in December 2023, the UAE dispatched its first aid ship to El Arish as part of this humanitarian operation. The vessel carried 4,016 tonnes of various relief items, including 3,465 tonnes of food, 420 tonnes of shelter materials, and 131 tonnes of medical supplies. A second shipment followed in February, with another vessel transporting 4,303 tonnes of food, 154 tonnes of shelter materials, and 87 tonnes of medical supplies.
This ongoing support from the UAE through its "Gallant Knight 3" operation highlights the nation's active role in international humanitarian efforts. By providing critical assistance to those in need in Gaza, especially during Ramadan, the UAE continues to demonstrate its solidarity and commitment to aiding communities affected by crises.
