Theyab Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Launches Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy – Les Roches To Enhance Education
H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed has officially opened the Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy – Les Roches in Abu Dhabi. He was welcomed by Mohamed Abdullah Al Junaibi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Georgette Davey, Managing Director, and Prof Scott Richardson, Dean of the academy. During his visit, H.H. toured the academy's facilities with Davey and Richardson.
A student, Tahnoon Al Qubaisi, presented H.H. with an overview of the academy's curriculum. This curriculum integrates top international hospitality education standards with UAE cultural heritage. The tour included a look at advanced facilities like experimental labs and a training area that mimics a hotel environment, complete with a real reception area for practical learning experiences.
Mohamed Al Junaibi expressed pride in inaugurating this unique academic institution in the UAE. He stated: "We are very proud to inaugurate this distinguished academic institution, which is considered the first of its kind in the UAE. It is dedicated to cultivating and motivating a new generation of Emirati and international talents; to enrich and empower the system of sustainable hospitality services in the UAE, and to embody the UAE hospitality values."
Carlos Diez de la Lastra, CEO of Les Roches, highlighted their mission: "We are honoured to bring our distinguished legacy of excellence in hospitality education to the UAE. That will be achieved through our mission, which will focus on preparing the students of the academy to be the leaders of the hospitality sector. This target balances between keeping up with future trends and embodying the values of authenticity and generosity in UAE."
Georgette Davey remarked on the academy's role: "Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy – Les Roches is poised to become a key pillar in UAE’s hospitality ecosystem, through equipping students with the essential skills and fostering leadership in hospitality. The academy eagerly welcomes the students who will continue enhancing the UAE hospitality heritage and augmenting UAE role as a centre of excellence in hospitality services."
The inauguration event was attended by Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, along with members of the board of trustees. This event marks a significant step towards fulfilling UAE's vision for international education in hospitality while nurturing Emirati talent.
The establishment of Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy – Les Roches represents a pioneering move towards achieving sustainable growth in hospitality education within the UAE.
