Theyab Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Celebrates Winners Of The Emirates Labour Market Award In Abu Dhabi Ceremony

The Emirates Labour Market Award, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, celebrated its second edition by honouring 84 winners. The ceremony took place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) and was attended by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar. The award recognises excellence in various labour market categories.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan remarked, "The UAE Government’s forward-thinking and sustainability-driven vision, under the exceptional leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has enabled our nation to stand out as an inspiring example of excellence and leadership, a beacon of innovation across all vital sectors, and a role model for constructive collaboration between the public and private sectors."

The award evaluated 7,700 applications across five main categories with a prize pool of AED37 million. Criteria included employment practices, occupational health and safety, creativity, innovation, talent acquisition, labour relations, wages, and social responsibility. Companies were assessed on comprehensive criteria specific to each category.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mansour for his support. He stated that the award is pivotal in enhancing competitiveness within the UAE's business environment. It contributes significantly to positioning the UAE as an ideal global destination for living, working, and investing.

The Companies category honoured 24 companies across nine subcategories based on evaluation results. Oceaneering OIS Company led in Mining and Quarrying; Emirates District Cooling (Emicool) topped Manufacturing; Sharjah Co-operative Society excelled in Wholesale and Retail Trade; Damac led Real Estate; Al Fardan Exchange dominated Financial Activities.

The Labour Accommodation category recognised four winners across two subcategories: Labotel Workers Village and Al Eskan Al Jamae won for accommodations with over 10,000 workers; Fujairah National Construction & Transport Co and Emirates Global Aluminium excelled in smaller accommodations.

Workforce Recognition

The Workforce category celebrated distinguished workers contributing to the UAE labour market. It included Skilled Workers, Workers at Other Professional Levels, and Domestic Workers subcategories. In total, 42 company workers were honoured alongside six domestic workers for their contributions.

In Skilled Workers' Leadership subcategory, Hamad Suhail Al Awadhi from Binghatti Development secured first place. Herve Rostand Mezeu from Khadamat Facilities Management led Managers subcategory. Nashwa Mohammed Mustafa Al-Sayed from Burjeel Hospital topped Health Field subcategory.

Special Recognition Category

The Special Recognition category was introduced this year to honour significant contributors to the UAE labour market. It includes Elite Companies like Al Fahim Group for exemplary practices. Initiatives such as Talabat Rest were celebrated for organising labour relations and empowering workforce practices.

Sponsors played a crucial role in supporting the award's success. Diamond sponsors included DAMAC and Majid Al Futtaim groups; platinum sponsors featured Insurance Pool and Binghatti Development among others; gold sponsors included Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (Emarat) while silver sponsors featured Dubai Duty Free.

The Emirates Labour Market Award offers benefits such as MoHRE Diamond classification for winning companies. This includes priority processing of transactions and premium call centre services. First-place winners receive up to AED1.5 million in financial savings while second-place winners get up to AED1 million.
