Thailand Showcases Muslim-Friendly Tourism Initiatives At Arabian Travel Market 2025

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is promoting Thailand as a leading destination for Muslim travellers at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025. This effort aligns with the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025 initiative. TAT has announced collaborations with major airlines from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), including Emirates and Etihad Airways, to improve connectivity and launch co-branded campaigns showcasing Thailand's wellness and luxury offerings.

Thailand aims to attract over 1 million visitors from the Middle East and Africa (MEA) by 2025. The country welcomed more than 956,000 visitors from the MEA region in 2024, marking a 25.6% increase compared to the previous year. This growth underscores Thailand's appeal among high-spending Middle Eastern travellers who prefer extended stays and customised travel plans.

Thailand's Muslim-Friendly Tourism at ATM 2025

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, stated, "Thailand is proud to offer an inclusive, seamless travel experience for Muslim travellers. We now have an extensive network of Halal-certified restaurants, prayer facilities at major airports and shopping centres, and luxury accommodations with private and gender-segregated amenities. We believe these features make Thailand a compelling choice for the Muslim travel market."

To cater to diverse traveller needs, TAT has crafted special travel packages for families, honeymooners, and wellness enthusiasts from the GCC region. These packages emphasise privacy, cultural exploration, shopping, and relaxation while aligning with Muslim travellers' values and expectations.

The Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025 campaign is being highlighted at ATM. This nationwide celebration includes festivals throughout the year, global sporting events, and exclusive travel privileges. The campaign focuses on sports tourism, wellness, culture, gastronomy, and luxury experiences that are immersive and personalised.

These initiatives reflect Thailand's dedication to sustainable tourism that is both creative and innovative. Following ATM, Thai representatives will conduct roadshows in Riyadh, Dammam, Doha from 4–7 May. They will also visit Casablanca and Amman to enhance B2B engagement and strengthen Thailand's presence in the GCC market.
