Tensor Launches World’s First Fully Autonomous Personal Robot Car At GITEX Global 2025
Tensor Auto, a company based in the US, introduced the Tensor Robocar at GITEX Global 2025. This vehicle is the first fully autonomous personal robot car worldwide. Notably, it doesn't require a driving licence or special insurance. Omar Abou-Ezzeddine, Regional Managing Director for MEA at Tensor, highlighted this innovation as a significant step in intelligent and futuristic vehicle development.
The Tensor Robocar is unique as it originates from Silicon Valley and has now reached the UAE market. It represents a level-four autonomous vehicle, meaning users can simply enter the car and direct it to perform tasks like dropping children at school or commuting to work. The car handles all driving, parking, and charging functions independently.

Abou-Ezzeddine explained that this vehicle was designed to be fully autonomous from inception rather than being an upgraded traditional car. This approach ensures a perfect blend of performance and technology, positioning it among the most advanced AI-powered vehicles globally. The car's design includes five Lidar sensors strategically placed around its body, along with over 100 sensors and cameras for precise environmental awareness.
The Tensor Robocar's processing power is remarkable, boasting up to 8,000 computing units compared to the 2,000 found in typical smart cars. This capability allows for real-time analysis and decision-making without human intervention. The vehicle can detect distances, speeds, and surrounding objects efficiently, enabling seamless navigation through urban areas and parking lots.
Beyond transportation, the Tensor Robocar serves as an integrated AI system that learns user behaviour over time. Abou-Ezzeddine stated that "Over time, the car learns about you and your family, recognising workplaces, schools and favourite shops, adapting to your lifestyle." All data exchanged between the car and the user's phone remains encrypted and secure from external access.
The vehicle also features an advanced voice-control system that allows users to manage destinations and functions using only voice commands. This feature enhances user interaction by providing a hands-free experience while maintaining privacy and security.
The Tensor Robocar's introduction marks a pivotal moment in automotive technology by offering a driverless experience with exceptional safety features. Its ability to learn from users' habits makes it more than just a mode of transport but an adaptive companion tailored to individual lifestyles.
