Tenaris Launches $60 Million Industrial Complex in Abu Dhabi, Strengthening ADNOC Partnership

Tenaris, a prominent global manufacturer and supplier of steel pipes, has officially opened its new Abu Dhabi industrial complex, Etihad Tubulars, following a significant investment of US$60 million. This move not only highlights the strength of Tenaris's ongoing partnership with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) but also supports the "Make it in the Emirates" initiative. The inauguration of this 200,000 square-metre facility in Abu Dhabi Industrial City (ICAD III) marks a significant step towards creating technical and administrative employment opportunities for UAE Nationals.

The complex is equipped with an industrial training centre specifically designed for ADNOC engineers, local talents, and partners. This centre aims to enhance their technical skills and knowledge. Furthermore, the facility includes a pipe service yard for the storage, inspection, and preparation of pipe products, alongside an advanced premium OCTG threading facility. This development is poised to play a crucial role in bolstering the UAE's industrial capabilities.

Innovative Supply Chain Model

The Etihad Tubulars complex introduces the first facility in the UAE capable of threading full-length premium connections. This aligns with Tenaris's Rig Direct® model, which aims to transform the tubular supply chain through digitalisation. The model offers a unique combination of well-planning services, OCTG field management, and on-site running support. This innovative approach is expected to significantly enhance operational efficiency and service quality for ADNOC and other local energy sector entities.

The establishment of Etihad Tubulars by Tenaris in Abu Dhabi represents a strategic investment in the UAE's industrial sector. By fostering job creation for UAE Nationals and introducing advanced technical training opportunities, this initiative is set to contribute significantly to the nation's economic development goals. Moreover, it reinforces the collaborative relationship between Tenaris and ADNOC while supporting the broader "Make it in the Emirates" initiative.
