Tawazun Council And Rosoboronexport Forge Strategic Cooperation In Defence And Security Industries
The Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement and Rosoboronexport have formalised a new partnership. They signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Dubai Airshow 2025. This agreement aims to enhance cooperation in defence and security sectors. Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi and Alexander Mikheev, along with other officials, were present for the signing.
The MoU outlines plans for both parties to boost industrial participation and share expertise in defence production. They will explore joint opportunities in research, technology transfer, and supply chain management. This collaboration aligns with the strategic goals of the UAE and Russia in defence and industry.
Dr. Nasser Al Nuaimi expressed optimism about the partnership's potential. "This agreement marks a significant step forward in strengthening the UAE’s defence industrial ecosystem. By partnering with Rosoboronexport, we aim to leverage global expertise, enhance local capabilities, and contribute to sustainable development in our defense sector. We look forward to translating this collaboration into tangible benefits for both nations."
Rosoboronexport has a history of successful collaboration with Tawazun, leading to several joint projects between Russia and the UAE. Alexander Mikheev highlighted their commitment to deepening military-technical cooperation with the UAE through industrial partnerships.
Mikheev stated, "Rosoboronexport and Tawazun have been successfully cooperating for a long time, and it has facilitated the implementation of a number of joint Russian-UAE projects." He emphasised their dedication to expanding these efforts further.
The UAE's defence capabilities benefit from Russian-made military equipment, which supports their strategic objectives. Both parties anticipate numerous promising projects emerging from this strengthened relationship.
This MoU is expected to foster long-term strategic cooperation between the two nations. It aims to create synergies that align with their respective defence and industrial objectives.
