Tawazun And Advanced Technology Research Council Collaborate On Defence Research And Development Initiatives
The Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement and the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) have entered into a partnership to boost research, development, and innovation in the UAE. This collaboration aims to enhance technological capabilities within the nation's defence and security sectors.
By focusing on advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence, autonomous systems, secure communications, and advanced materials, both parties plan to create joint programmes. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement.
Shahab Issa Abu Shahab, Director-General of ATRC, signed the agreement alongside Shareef Hashim Al Hashmi, CEO of Operations at Tawazun. Abu Shahab noted that "Advanced technologies are playing an increasingly rapid role in supporting various industries, both defence and civilian." He emphasised the need for updated research methodologies to keep pace with technological advancements.
