Tarshid Completes Solar Panel Installation Project To Enhance Energy Efficiency At Al-Iman Hospital In Riyadh
The National Energy Services Company, known as Tarshid, has partnered with Al-Iman General Hospital in Riyadh to complete a solar panel installation across the hospital's facilities. This solar system boasts a capacity of 638 kilowatts and is projected to save around 1 million kilowatt-hours of energy annually. This initiative aims to enhance energy efficiency and reduce consumption by generating solar power for on-site use.
Tarshid's Board Member and CEO, Waled Al-Ghreri, mentioned that the company conducted thorough field surveys and technical studies on the buildings involved in the project. These assessments underscored the need for improved energy efficiency through rooftop solar panel installations. This approach facilitates on-site electricity generation, providing clean, renewable energy directly to the hospital.

The project's goal was to reduce annual electricity consumption from approximately 22.8 million kilowatt-hours to 21.8 million kilowatt-hours. The expected savings are equivalent to conserving over 1,500 barrels of oil and preventing about 560 metric tons of carbon emissions. This environmental benefit is similar to planting more than 9,000 seedlings each year.
By achieving these energy savings and emission reductions, Tarshid aligns with Saudi Arabia's strategic sustainability objectives outlined in Saudi Vision 2030. The project not only supports national goals but also sets a precedent for future initiatives aimed at enhancing energy efficiency across various sectors.
Tarshid ensures that all projects adhere to international standards and best practices. By focusing on renewable energy solutions like solar power, they aim to provide sustainable energy options that contribute positively to environmental conservation efforts within the Kingdom.
The collaboration between Tarshid and Al-Iman General Hospital exemplifies a commitment to sustainable development. It highlights the importance of integrating renewable energy sources into existing infrastructure to achieve long-term environmental benefits.
This initiative reflects a broader trend towards adopting clean energy solutions in healthcare facilities across Saudi Arabia. By reducing reliance on traditional energy sources, such projects contribute significantly to national sustainability targets while promoting environmental stewardship.
