SWSC Celebrates Winning 28 Medals At The UAE Women's Athletics Cup
The Sharjah Women’s Sports Club (SWSC) athletes celebrated a significant victory at the UAE Athletics Cup for Citizens, held at the Dubai Police Officers Club. Competing against teams like Abu Dhabi Athletics Club and Emirates Cultural and Sports Club, SWSC excelled in three age categories: Under 13, Under 16, and Under 19. Their remarkable performance secured them both the U13 and U16 Cups, amassing a total of 28 medals: 10 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze.
In the under-13 category, Sarah Fahad delivered an exceptional performance by clinching two gold medals. She finished first in both the 200-meter hurdles and the 300-metre race. In the same hurdles event, Rawda Al-Jaberi earned a silver medal while Maria Fahad took home bronze. Alia Khaled Saeed also shone brightly with a gold in the 80-metre race and a silver in the 300-metre race. Fawaghi Hamid added to their success with a bronze in the 300-meter event.

Samar Saleh dominated the jumping events by winning gold medals in both long jump and high jump. Reem Youssef followed closely with a silver medal in high jump. In throwing events, Hanan Ibrahim excelled by securing gold in shot put and discus throw. Maryam Issa contributed with a bronze medal in discus throw. Maitha Juma and Ahed Mohammed performed admirably, earning silver and bronze respectively in shot put, while Alyazia Tariq Juma completed the throwing events with a bronze in hammer throw.
The club's athletes continued to shine in the Under-16 division as well. Reem Youssef secured two gold medals in the 100-meter hurdles and the 400-metre race. Khadija Mohammed also made her mark by winning a bronze medal in the 100-meter race.
Success Across Various Disciplines
In jumping events for this age group, Suad Al Jallaf earned a bronze medal in long jump along with a silver medal in high jump. Nada Nasr impressed by winning bronze in high jump as well. In throwing competitions, Raya Moamen struck gold in shot put while securing silver in discus throw. Her teammate Maryam Murad won silver in shot put and bronze in discus throw, with Alyazia Tariq Abdul Salam grabbing bronze in shot put too. Additionally, Sheikha Fahad Al Mazmi received silver for hammer throw.
Hind Al Kabawi, Technical Director of Athletics at SWSC, praised their athletes' outstanding performances during this tournament. "The players have once again shown their exceptional skills," she stated proudly about their achievements that reflect dedication and teamwork leading to winning both U13 & U16 Cups.
This accomplishment highlights Sharjah Women's Sports Club's strong position ahead of next year's athletics season (2024-2025). Their success is driven by innovative strategies combining expert training alongside supportive resources—setting stage for new champions emerging within Olympic sports arena.
