Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls Project Unveils 14 New Investment Opportunities For Local Citizens

The Supreme Committee for the Development of Hatta, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has unveiled 14 new investment and commercial opportunities at the Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project. These initiatives aim to empower local citizens by creating jobs and supporting sustainable economic and social growth in the area.

All retail spaces at this project will be allocated to Emiratis living in Hatta for free for one year. This initiative provides a platform for small businesses and productive families to thrive in one of the UAE's most picturesque and culturally rich locations. The plan aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and the Hatta Development Master Plan.

New Investment Opportunities at Hatta Project

The new investment opportunities cover an area of 750 square metres. They include four restaurants, four retail stores, and six food and beverage kiosks. These spaces will offer diverse experiences such as Emirati, Arabic, Western, and traditional cuisine, along with local cafes, equipment rentals, and souvenir shops.

Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, stated: "For the first time, investment and commercial opportunities are being introduced in the Hatta Dam area, specifically at the Sustainable Waterfalls. This marks a significant step in strengthening the local economy and empowering Emirati entrepreneurs."

The initiative supports both Dubai Social Agenda 33 and Dubai Economic Agenda D33. These agendas aim to place Dubai among the top three cities globally for tourism while promoting inclusive economic development and environmental sustainability. The projects are designed to boost tourism, support local culture, and promote economic self-sufficiency for Hatta residents.

Dubai Municipality encourages all eligible citizens residing in Hatta to apply through their website. Selection will be based on specific eligibility criteria established by an evaluation committee.

A Unique Tourist Attraction

The Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls is a key tourist attraction within the Hatta Dam area. It features cascading water from the upper dam of the Hatta Hydroelectric Plant flowing over a mosaic mural — the largest of its kind worldwide — depicting late leaders Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

This mural covers 2,199 square metres using over 1.2 million pieces of natural marble. The initiative not only enhances tourism but also opens doors for a new generation of entrepreneurs to expand their ventures in this scenic region.
