Sultan Bin Ahmed Celebrates Winners Of Shams Arabic Content Awards In Sharjah

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, attended a ceremony at Sharjah Media City. The event celebrated winners of the Shams Awards for Arabic Content. This initiative highlights the city's commitment to nurturing creativity and supporting content creators in producing innovative Arabic content.

The awards ceremony recognised various talents in media and content creation. The "Stories" podcast by Jamal Al Mulla from the UAE won first place in the Best Arabic Podcast category. The second position was secured by "Secrets of Money" by Ahmed Al Jamal from Egypt, while "Art" by Badr Al Awadhi from the UAE took third place.

Rashid Abdullah Al Obaid, Director of Sharjah Media City (Shams), spoke about the award's importance. He stated, "The Shams Award for Arabic Content is not only a celebration of creativity but also a message inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. It aims to highlight the role of media in shaping societies and reinforcing Arab identity."

In his speech, Al Obaid encouraged young individuals to share their creative experiences. He urged them to present meaningful ideas that could enhance their skills and contribute to their growth. This aligns with Sharjah Media City's ongoing efforts to foster media innovation and establish Sharjah as a creative hub in the Arab world.

The Best Short Film Award went to Fares Shaheen for "The Red Shoes" from Syria. Gabriel Al Nuwaiji from Libya received recognition for creating the Best Video for a Commercial Advertisement. These awards underscore the diverse talent contributing to Arabic media content.

In social media content creation, Ahmed Raafat (Street Broadcaster) from Egypt won first place as Best Content Creator on Social Media. Hafsa Mahyou from Algeria secured second place, while Marwan Al Shehhi from the UAE took third place.

Celebrating Contributions to Media Sector

The Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council acknowledged jury members: media personality Ahmed Salem Bou Samnouh, director Nahla Al Fahad, Dr Hisham Zakaria, and media figure Abdul Raouf Amira. Sponsors and partners from various organisations were also recognised for their support.

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi also attended an annual gathering organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau. This event brought together media professionals and influencers for networking activities aimed at strengthening connections and promoting meaningful content development.

The Chairman personally greeted all attendees at this gathering, expressing gratitude for their contributions to advancing the media sector in the UAE. Their collaboration with media authorities in Sharjah was highly appreciated during this meeting.

The ceremony saw attendance from notable figures such as Sheikh Salem bin Mohammed bin Salem Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority; Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the same authority; Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director-General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority; Tariq Saeed Allay, Director-General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau; Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Media Council; Rashid Abdullah Al Obaid; Salem Ali Al Ghaithi; and Alia Bu Ghanem Al Suwaidi along with several other media professionals.
