Starlinks Selects Swisslog For Major Aviation Warehouse Automation In Saudi Arabia

Starlinks has selected Swisslog to deliver a major warehouse automation programme for a new aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul facility in Saudi Arabia. The project forms part of a broader supply chain solution for a leading aviation company in the Middle East and will support spare parts logistics and maintenance services.

The programme will be implemented at one of the region’s most important aviation hubs, where demand is rising as local and regional airlines expand fleets and increase passenger and cargo capacity. Starlinks is handling the overall supply chain solution, including design, automation planning and operational implementation, while Swisslog is supplying the warehouse systems and software.

The solution combines a high-density AutoStore system with pallet automation and Swisslog’s SynQ software platform to manage both small parts and palletised inventory in one material flow. AutoStore will provide compact storage for MRO spare parts, while robots will move on top of the grid to access bins quickly and support efficient space use.

The pallet automation scope includes a pallet automated storage and retrieval system with Swisslog Vectura stacker cranes, Swisslog ProMove pallet conveyors, a pallet shuttle car, inbound transport systems and picking stations. These technologies will connect receiving, inspection, storage and order fulfilment processes across the facility and support future growth.
