SRTA Highlights Smart Transport Innovations At Evolve Future Mobility Show 2025

The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) took part in the Evolve Future Mobility Show (EFMS 2025) at Expo Centre Sharjah. This event, running from 15th to 18th October, showcases innovative initiatives that reflect SRTA's commitment to smart transformation and sustainability in transport. The exhibition brings together various government and private entities to highlight advancements in smart mobility and sustainable practices.

Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of SRTA, emphasised the importance of their participation. He stated that it demonstrates the Authority’s dedication to promoting smart and sustainable transport solutions. "The exhibition serves as a strategic platform to spotlight successful transport experiences locally and globally," he noted. The event also provides an opportunity for exchanging knowledge between local and international organisations.

SRTA showcased three key projects during the event. One of these is an electric bus fleet serving the intercity route to Ajman. These buses incorporate advanced technologies ensuring comfort and safety for all passengers, including those with special needs. They are equipped with electronic payment systems, surveillance cameras, and sensors monitoring drivers' health during trips.

The second project involves electric vehicle chargers developed in partnership with BEEAH Group. This initiative aims to expand charging stations across Sharjah to accommodate the rising demand for electric vehicles. A smart application links these stations, allowing users to find available chargers and make payments easily, supporting the shift towards sustainable transport.

Another highlight of SRTA's participation is the introduction of smart cameras in Sharjah’s taxi fleet. These cameras track trip details and driver behaviour while specialised ones help recover lost items. This initiative enhances passenger safety, aligning with SRTA’s goal of improving service quality and customer satisfaction.

The EFMS 2025 event not only showcases technological advancements but also presents future projects aimed at developing transport infrastructure across Sharjah and the UAE. It underscores SRTA's efforts in adopting cutting-edge solutions to manage transport systems efficiently while supporting environmental goals set by the Sharjah Government.

Al Othmani mentioned that SRTA consistently implements new smart systems across its sectors to boost operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The Authority’s ongoing efforts contribute significantly to enhancing public transport quality through modernisation and innovation.

This comprehensive approach ensures that SRTA remains at the forefront of transforming transportation within the Emirate, fostering a more sustainable future for all residents by integrating technology into everyday travel experiences.
