Abu Dhabi Gears Up For The Fourth Spartan Beast World Championship With New Ladies-Only Event

The Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and Spartan have confirmed that the fourth Spartan Beast World Championship will occur in Al Wathba Desert, Abu Dhabi. The event is scheduled from 28th November to 1st December 2024. Thousands of athletes, both professional and amateur, along with local community members, are expected to participate.

On 29th November, a five-kilometre Night Sprint featuring 20 obstacles will be open to both men and women. This stage is one of the most challenging in the Spartan series. The championship will continue on 30th November with the 21-kilometre Beast Race. This race includes 30 obstacles and is part of the Elite and Age Group World Championships. Additionally, there will be a one- to three-kilometre Obstacle Race for Kids.

The event will kick off with a new ladies-only Night Sprint on the first day. This five-kilometre route includes 20 obstacles and offers female athletes a chance to compete privately amidst Al Wathba Desert's sand dunes. The championship concludes on 1st December with several races: a three-kilometre Team Relay Race (Elite Team Relay Championships), a ten-kilometre Super Race, and a five-kilometre Sprint.

Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of ADSC, expressed his excitement: "With the great success of the Spartan Beast World Championship in previous years, we are anticipating another exciting and competitive edition, with a variety of race options that will allow a range of athletes of varying abilities to compete."
