Space42 Expands Access To Geospatial Intelligence With GIQ Launch On Microsoft Azure Marketplace
Space42 has introduced its AI-driven geospatial intelligence platform, GIQ, on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. This move enhances Space42's global reach and boosts the UAE's position in space-enabled decision-making. The platform aims to improve accessibility for users worldwide by offering advanced analytics and satellite imagery through a dynamic marketplace.
Salem Butti Al Qubaisi, Director-General of the UAE Space Agency, highlighted the significance of this development. He stated, "Reflecting on the past three years, our Space Strategy 2030 identified the development of talent, science, and the economy within the Earth observation downstream sector as a key opportunity. Through our first public-private partnership with Space42, we established a platform that empowers young researchers, startups, and international partners with access to cutting-edge space data and AI capabilities. In just three years, this collaboration has earned us the prestigious Future Fit Prize — a testament to the meaningful impact we have achieved together."

Al Qubaisi further noted that listing GIQ on Azure Marketplace is a strategic milestone. It highlights the UAE's leadership in space innovation and advanced analytics. The platform bridges gaps between space data and services by facilitating access to satellite imagery and innovative Earth observation applications.
Geospatial intelligence is crucial for sectors like environmental monitoring and urban development. However, its adoption faces hurdles such as limited accessibility and high computational needs. GIQ addresses these by transforming multi-source satellite data into actionable intelligence swiftly. The platform integrates data from over 10 vendors and uses more than 8 proprietary AI models proven in real-world scenarios like disaster response.
The platform offers three core capabilities: accelerating insights by reducing analysis time from hours to minutes; ensuring trusted sovereignty through secure AI sandboxes; and fostering a global ecosystem by connecting startups and enterprises to tackle challenges like climate resilience.
Global Impact of GIQ Platform
Hasan Al Hosani, CEO of Smart Solutions at Space42, emphasized GIQ’s availability on Azure as pivotal for their global leadership goals. He said, "GIQ’s availability on Azure is a defining milestone in our mission to lead globally in geospatial intelligence platforms and services. Together with Microsoft and the UAE Space Agency, we are equipping organizations worldwide with practical, scalable, and accessible insights. This launch also strengthens Space42’s role as the partner of choice for governments and enterprises and advances our strategy of becoming the global leader in geospatial intelligence, AI platforms and services."
The collaboration between Space42, Microsoft, and the UAE Space Agency aims to provide organizations worldwide with scalable insights. This initiative positions Space42 as a preferred partner for governments and businesses seeking advanced geospatial intelligence solutions.
The introduction of GIQ on Azure marks an important step for Space42 in expanding its influence globally while reinforcing its commitment to innovation in geospatial intelligence.
